... for theSleuths:

After I completed basic training the Army chose to discharge me under (their) breach of contract. I had guaranteed enlistment for WOCS and Flight School. A drop in pilot attrition (armored seats?) caused a situation where there were too many wannaBees in the pipeline for the number of joysticks needing a jerk.

I spent fidgety hours signing one stack of papers letting me out of the Army and one enlisting me back in with Flight Engineer guaranteed instead.

The terms as I understood them were that as long as I was able and became qualified for the job descriptions the Army would allow me to work in them or let me out.

I need to know if I should be entitled to benefits under that first discharge? Shouldn't that discharge be a matter of record? Where would I find it? Would it be files separate from my existing 201 and file?

If my first guarantee was so inviolate as to require me being discharged and re-enlisted how could my superiors in VN violate the second contract with no given (legitimate) reason?

Was a direct order; given in VN ~June-July 1970, from a Commanding Officer, not to seek medical treatment (and amnesty) for heroin addiction a lawful order? I thought not.

Stay tuned. We can do this...
