My research shows that raw Chlorine is a gas that can be made into a liquid with pressure. The crystals, granules, and tablets are compounds made with chlorine in differing concentrations. The IMPORTANT point (that you should never seal a container of pool chemicals that has gotten wet because it will explode!) stands whether there's other ingredients involved in the chemical reaction or not. My over-view is valid, the devil's in the details.
