me.dium

This post is elaboration on a comment I made on me.dium's blog;

One login should work for the sidebar and website. If you’re logged in to the sidebar and someone gives you an invite, me.dium takes you to the signup page. Clicking the already a member link did nothing (in iE8 mode I think) me.dium hasn't integrated the sidebar and website well enough yet.

I couldn’t get any links to work when logged in with iE8. This is professed to be a crown jewel that makes it shine… This is a fine concept that seems to be rushed into production before refined.

Their 'recommended sites' appear to be selected for me based on where they want me to go rather than being based on sites I show interest in by browsing there with their sidebar active. Two of those sites recommendations took me to pages thanking me for downloading their software.

This smacks of an inner circle of friends that are bumpping up each other's hits and downloads.

Another minor annoyance for me is that new chats and comments go to the bottom, meaning I have to scroll down to read recent remarks.

Often there's lag that makes it seem nothing happened. That may be the cause of my thinking nothing happened earlier.

Am I doing something wrong? So far I'm only able to get me.dium to work in iE7 mode.

Being well over 30 I may not even belong in this crowd anyway. I don't even have a faceBook account...
